Grief/Loss

One of the adaptations to trauma is fragmentation of self, so that what was overwhelming, painful, or beyond the window of tolerance could be split off as a way of surviving. Working with these lost parts, can be an important component of resolving unconscious conflicts and defense mechanisms, that continue to impact clients internally and in their relationships. The royal road to finding these parts is through the complexes experienced in the body and dreams but often the ego needs to provide a conscious container strong enough to hold the images that are creating new life. It is crucial that the ego be strong enough to hold its own standpoint and at the same time remain open to the expansion that comes through taking responsibility for the lost parts.

Recognizing the intricate dance between psyche and soma, Eda guides clients to gain valuable insights into their unconscious, fostering somatic resilience and regulation, repair of attachment ruptures and early developmental trauma, while steering away from stagnation. She approaches the complexity of the psyche with a nuanced understanding, recognizing that each symptom contributes to a broader emerging sense of wholeness. Her work with images and metaphor in her sessions facilitates a pathway to healing trauma through the bottom-up model. This trauma-informed approach is complemented by Eda’s clinical training in trauma treatment for both the body and psyche.
